It snowed a lot this week. At one point it was up to my knees. One question I asked everyday was, "Where's the salt!?" Out here in Urbino, shoveling, plowing and salting the walkways and roads is hard to come by. Even though I almost fell flat multiple times, the snow created beautiful scenes in this renaissance town.

Our University was closed but we still had our Italian class on Monday and Wednesday. All of our other classes we still didn't have, so yes, I still haven't had a full week of all of my classes. I am not mad about it.

We all ventured out into the winter weather everyday. When you study abroad you can't let days go to waste. We saw people sledding in the streets, having snowball fights and the Italian people bundling up.

Speaking of being bundled up, here are things I didn't pack but should have:

  • Hat

  • Gloves

  • Winter coat

  • Snow boots

I survived, mostly because of this scarf and wearing multiple layers of socks.

It was not extremely cold, it was in the 30s, there was just a lot of snow.

I had Italian hot chocolate for the first time and it was amazing and perfect for a winter day.

We also ventured out to get Chinese food one night. The snow was starting to freeze over into ice, which made the steep hills more of an obstacle. However, the hot food at the end of the trek was a great reward.

As you can see, with the photo of the car, the snow was not messing around here. Some cars stayed in this state the whole week.

Overall, it was a cold week, but Urbino is beautiful when its covered in snow. I also felt like I was missing out on the snow at home, so I'm glad I got a taste of winter across the pond.

This weekend I head off to Venice and maybe Verona! The adventure continues..

Ciao for now!
